Delete Your Account

Effective Date: May 18, 2026

You can request deletion of your munchwise account and all associated data at any time. We offer two ways to do this — choose whichever is easier for you.

Option 1: Delete from within the app (recommended)

If you still have the app installed, this is the fastest way:

Open the munchwise app on your device
Go to Settings (tap your profile or the gear icon)
Tap Account
Tap Delete Account at the bottom of the page
Confirm the deletion in the popup

Your account and all associated data are deleted immediately.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

If you no longer have access to the app (uninstalled, lost device, etc.), email us from the address registered to your account:

Subject: Delete my account

Body: Please delete the munchwise account associated with this email address and all related data.

We'll verify the request comes from the registered email and complete deletion within 30 days. You'll receive a confirmation email when deletion is complete.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

Account credentials and profile (name, email, date of birth, gender, height, weight)
Nutrition goals and calorie targets
Food logs, meal history, and photos submitted for AI analysis
Voice recordings submitted for food analysis
Sleep logs and activity history
Engagement data (streaks, badges, achievements)
Saved recipes
Authentication records (Clerk account)

What we retain and why

A small amount of data is retained for legal or operational reasons:

Anonymized crash logs and diagnostics (up to 90 days) — used by Sentry to maintain app stability. These contain no personally identifiable information.
Payment and subscription records — retained as required by tax and financial regulations. These are held by our payment processor (Apple, Google, or RevenueCat) under their own data retention policies.
Aggregate, anonymized usage statistics — used to improve the app, cannot be linked back to your identity.

Health data

Health and fitness data synced from Apple Health or Health Connect lives on your device. Deleting your account removes our cached copy on our servers, but does not affect data stored by Apple Health or Health Connect — you can manage that data through those apps' own settings.
