Work from real food logs, shared on your clients’ terms
For dietitians, nutritionists and doctors, and fitness coaches too. munchwise is a food-rating app people use every day for themselves. When a client joins your club, you coach from those daily logs, and you see only what that client chose to share with you.
Seeing client data needs Premium. Clients join free.

Consent comes first, and it stays with your client
Each client decides what you see, club by club and category by category. Only the client can change those choices.
- Six categories, each its own switch
- Food entries and ratings
- Daily nutrition and goals
- Sleep and steps
- Weight and profile
- Lab results and vitals
- Measurements and progress photos
- Sensitive categories start off
- Lab results and vitals, and measurements and progress photos, start switched off. A client has to turn them on.
- Chosen per club
- Sharing with your club opens nothing anywhere else, and you never see members of a different club.
- Withdrawal is immediate
- A client can change any category or leave whenever they like. A change applies from the next request, and leaving ends your access to their data.
- Your subscription is a gate
- While your own Premium has lapsed, you see nothing from any client. Nothing is deleted, and access returns when Premium does.
- Recorded and renewed
- Every grant and withdrawal is logged with a timestamp and version. After a year the client is asked again, and a category they do not renew lapses.
Where data lives, how long it is kept and what deletion removes are set out in full in the data processing summary for practitioners.
Read the data commitmentsCoach from your phone, plan at your desk
Day-to-day monitoring happens in the app, between clients. The web desk is for the work a phone makes slow: building plans and reviewing clients at a laptop.
In the app
iPhone and Android
- Client monitoring
- Each client’s food log, nutrition against goals, sleep and steps, and weight, limited to what they share with you.
- Who needs attention
- A coach view that lifts clients who have missed planned meals or stopped logging to the top, and a morning alert when someone needs a check-in.
- Meal plans and adherence
- Send a dated plan and see each planned meal marked eaten, substituted or missed. Adherence needs the client to share food.
- Messages
- A conversation thread with each client.
- Sessions
- Booked sessions show up in both calendars, with a reminder the day before and an hour before.
- Packages and payments
- List what you offer with your own payment link. Clients pay you directly and you record the payment when it arrives. No money passes through munchwise.
- Staff
- Add a coach, who sees clients, sends plans and messages and runs check-ins, or a viewer, who only sees clients. Neither can rename or close the club, change billing or add staff.
- Measurements and photos
- Tape measurements and progress photos, for clients who choose to share them.
On the web desk
In a laptop browser, signed in
- Sortable roster
- Every client in one table you can sort and filter, with the same attention flags as the app.
- Client page
- Everything a client shares, at laptop width, plus a private note the client never sees.
- Plan builder
- Edit a meal, move it to another day, copy a whole day or regenerate one, then save it as a template or assign it with a start date.
- Templates and library
- Reusable plans of one to seven days, and a library of files and links for a club, with a count of how many have read each one.
- Check-ins and forms
- Questionnaires built from scratch or from a template, and weekly check-in answers laid side by side, week over week.
- Weekly report
- A printable report for each client that says plainly what it could not include.
- Habits, announcements and nudges
- Daily habits for the whole club, one announcement to everyone, and routine nudges sent as messages in your thread with each client.
How client data is handled
The short version. The full summary answers what a data review asks.
- Meal analysis
- Meal analysis uses Anthropic and OpenAI. Images and text sent for analysis are not used for training.
- Roles
- For client data you see through a club, you are the controller and munchwise is the processor. Club data is not sold and not used to train models.
- Storage
- Records are encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.2 or later. Photos and documents sit in a private store and open only through links that expire within the hour.
- Export
- A client can export everything held about them as one JSON file, at any time. Practitioner-side export of a client record is not built yet.
- Deletion
- Deleting an account is immediate and cannot be undone, and backups roll off within 30 days. Deleting your account also deletes your clubs, while your clients’ own logs and measurements stay theirs.
- HIPAA
- munchwise does not sign Business Associate Agreements, so do not use it for protected health information under HIPAA.
- Agreements
- A data processing agreement template is available on request. Email privacy@munchwise.app with your practice name.

Questions
Do my clients have to pay?
No. Joining a club is free. The app is free to use with 5 credits a day, refreshed every morning, and Premium is optional for them.
Can clients use munchwise on a computer?
Clubs live in the phone app, on iPhone and Android. A client who opens your invite link on a computer is shown where to get the app.
Can I export a client’s record?
Not yet. You can read what a client shares in the app and on the web desk, and print a weekly report. A client can export their own data whenever they like.
Do wearables connect?
Not yet. Wearable connections are built but not live. Sleep and steps come from what clients log or sync from Apple Health or Health Connect.
